Multicultural/World Languages Club

SDA is blessed with students representing many races, creeds and ethnic origins.  This club provides a forum in which students from varied cultural backgrounds can share the richness of their heritage with each other.  By participating in the club, members develop a greater appreciation, understanding and reverence for the individuality and the differences of others, and a strong sense of community.
SDA students annually celebrate their cultural heritage and the school’s diversity in the Multicultural Show.  Last year, over 100 students and faculty members participated in the show, which was organized by the club members and moderators.

At least once each semester, members select a play or presentation to attend and share background information on the performance.

Peer Ministry Program

The aim is to build a faith community where young people can foster spiritual and emotional growth within each other. They develop the skills that enable them to be effective witnesses, leaders and carriers of the message of Jesus.

The club uses letter writing campaigns to enlist public support and networks with other animal rights groups, such as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), HSUS (Humane Society of the US) and FOA (Friends of Animals).

Student Ambassador Club

Students belonging to this club contribute to SDA's recruitment and public relations efforts, serving as representatives when making visits to elementary schools and at High School Information Nights. At SDA's Open House and other events for prospective students, they serve as tours guides and hostesses. In the fall of each year, sophomore ambassadors serve as hostesses to 8th graders who visit as “Freshman for a Day”.  In the spring, freshman ambassadors perform the same role with 7th grade visitors.  Student ambassadors also send correspondence to prospective students.

Applications from girls interested in serving as Student Ambassadors are accepted in the spring of each school year.
