Indoor Track and Field

It has been a thrilling season for this overachieving team. They stayed focused, overcame unexpected obstacles and gamely extended the following streaks: Jersey City Championship(10 years straight; 21 of 23); H.C.I.A.A. Relays and Individuals (4 years in a row and 13 of past 18 years); and Hudson County Championship (4th year in a row). The Program has now won 70 City titles, 69 H.C.I.A.A. crowns and 34 County team titles.

After a lackluster performance at Brown, the team excelled at challenging meets at Yale and West Point. Kim Hudock broke the County record in the mile, held previously by Christine Capetola '05 (Christine is now a sophomore student athlete at the University of Pennsylvania.) Hudock and Lauren Moore qualified for the State Meet of Champions and were joined by Katherine Capetola, Kristina Jiminez and Morgan West. All earned medals st the state relays held in the Jersey City Armory. Christine Kemp '08 became the 15th Blue Devil to toss the Shot 30 plus feet.

At the Easterns Meet in March 2007, Senior Kim Hudock broke a county record for 1600 meters at 5:21.5. Morgan West was the first Sophomore to high jump 5 feet indoors. Junior Lauren Moore had a personal best on the high hurdles.

The team of Hudock, West, Moore and Sophomore Katherine Capetola also qualified and competed for the Indoor Nationals. Six Blue Devils alums are currently competing in college.
