SDA Inducts New Members Into Honor Societies

 

On Thursday, May 3, Saint Dominic Academy inducted twenty-one new members into the Siena Chapter of the National Honor Society, eight new members into La Society Honoraire de Francais (French Honor Society) and twenty-four new members into Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica (Spanish Honor Society).  

The event included an Invocation and the Salute to the Flag.  Opening ceremonies were followed by NHS Induction with a review of the qualifications for membership: scholarship, service, leadership and character, introduction of inductees, presentation of pins and certificates by SDA Academic Dean, Mrs. Guen Farrales and recitation of the NHS pledge.  New inductees include: twelve sophomores, seven juniors and two seniors.

French Honor Society inductions followed NHS with a review of the qualifications of membership, the pledge and a presentation in the French language.  New members of La Societe Honoraire de Francais include three sophomores and five juniors.

The induction into the Spanish Honor Society followed with a review of the qualifications of membership, the pledge and a performance in Spanish.  New members of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica include twelve juniors and nineteen sophomores.

The evening ended with closing remarks by Head of School, Ms. Sarah Degnan-Moje, and the Alma Mater. Refreshments followed.
