“The Sound of Music” Played to Sold-Out Audiences

On Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2, Saint Dominic Academy, Jersey City presented Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music” to sold out audiences.  

According to rnh.com who licenses the show, “With music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book and suggested by “The Trapp Family Singers, ” by Maria Augusta Trapp, the final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical.”

The show was performed in the newly renovated ELAN and featured an extensive cast and crew of students from SDA, St. Peter’s Prep and Hudson Catholic High School.

The show was directed by Ms. Stephanie DeSarle. Mr. Joseph Napoli served as a vocal coach and  the show was choreographed by a SDA senior.
