Charitable giving is one of the most rewarding experiences
an individual can have.

When you become a member of the Madonna Society, you join us in making the resources of Saint Dominic Academy available for future generations. You become a member of this legacy society when you name SDA in your will, trust or otherwise include the school in your estate plans.

Bequests
To leave a bequest is to make a permanent statement of your values. It is by this act that the world will remember you, what you cared about and what you stood for.

The preferred language in a will depends on the type of bequest you choose to make. Listed below are examples of recommended language for three different types of bequests to Saint Dominic Academy. Similar language would serve for bequests of real or personal property, e.g., life insurance policy, retirement vehicle.

1. Percentage of estate:

I give, devise and bequeath to Saint Dominic Academy, a nonprofit corporation, located at 2572 Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, New Jersey 07304, _________% of my estate after payment of all debts, claims, expenses and taxes for the use and purposes of the School.

2. Specified amount:

I give, devise and bequeath to Saint Dominic Academy, a nonprofit corporation, located at 2572 Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, New Jersey 07304, the sum of $_________ for the use and purposes of the School.

3. Residual amount:

All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, including real and personal property, wherever situated, I give, devise and bequeath Saint Dominic Academy, a nonprofit corporation, located at 2572 Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, New Jersey 07304, for the uses and purposes of the School.

Endowments
The need to build a significant endowment for Saint Dominic Academy is as pressing as the need to expand facilities. Tuition cannot cover the full cost of SDA’s rich and varied curriculum. Endowment supplements tuition and annual fund gifts, thereby allowing the school the financial stability necessary for long-term institutional health.

There is no higher priority than the nurturing and support of our students and our teachers. They are the heart and soul of our school. In support of a gifted and diverse student body and an inspirational core of teachers, our endowment supports the recruitment, retention and training of the most inspiring faculty members, and increases opportunities for deserving students who qualify for admission but could not otherwise afford an SDA education.
