ELAN is SDA’s student-run literacy magazine that celebrates voice, creativity, and critical thinking. Featuring original student writing across genres including poetry, short stories, essays, reflections, and visual-text pieces, ELAN provides a platform for students to express their ideas, experiences, and perspectives. The magazine highlights the power of language as a tool for storytelling, self-expression, and connection within the SDA community.
Student Films
Students from Mr. Reeves’ Film Studies class showcased short experimental films (1–2 minutes) created as part of an immersive unit on avant-garde cinema. Inspired by Meshes of the Afternoon (1943), these projects challenge students to explore symbolism, mood, and visual storytelling through nontraditional narrative techniques. The films reflect creative risk-taking, critical analysis, and a deep engagement with film as an artistic medium.
