During the event, students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of colleges and universities and speak directly with admissions representatives, allowing them to ask questions and make valuable connections as they begin their college search process. Nearly 300 colleges and universities were in attendance, representing institutions from across the United States and around the world.

THE MIDDLE SCOOP

Middle School Scholar-Leaders Explore the Municipal Courthouse

The middle school scholar-leaders recently took part in an exciting and educational field trip to the Municipal Courthouse. During their visit, they had the opportunity to meet with two judges, the city prosecutors, and the public defenders, gaining firsthand insight into how the local justice system operates. Students also toured several behind-the-scenes areas of the courthouse, including the holding cells, evidence room, mugshot area, and fingerprinting lab. The experience provided a unique, real-world look at the legal process and sparked great conversations about careers in law and public service.

MEDQUEST Hosts Hands-On Presentation for Middle School

Saint Dominic Academy’s Middle School scholar-leaders were recently invited to a special presentation hosted by our MEDQUEST junior and senior classes, offering them a firsthand look into the world of healthcare. During the interactive session, the middle schoolers had the opportunity to learn about some of the basic skills medical assistants use every day.
Through a series of demonstrations led by the MEDQUEST students, they explored how to take vital signs, properly bandage an injury, and even provide basic care and diagnostic skills for animals using the program’s canine simulation dummy.
The hands-on experience allowed the younger students to ask questions, participate in demonstrations, and get a glimpse into the practical skills students develop in the MEDQUEST program. The middle schoolers thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and had a fantastic time learning from their SDA sisters.
