CAMPUS MINISTRY

Catholic Sisters Week
March 8-14
The story of the Dominican Sisters begins in 1206 in Prouille, France, where St. Dominic established the first community of Dominican women, eleven years before the Order of Preachers was approved by Pope Honorius III. These women embraced the call of the Gospel with courage, ingenuity, and a deep trust in divine providence. Each congregation has its own unique history and story, from the many congregations that trace their roots back to Regensburg, Germany.
Four candidates for admission to the Order of the Sisters of St. Dominic taking the veil on August 4, 1882 arrived at the Dominican Convent in Jersey City from Germany (represented above).
During Catholic Sisters Week, we give thanks for the witness of the Sisters whose lives shape our schools and communities. We pause to reflect on how their faithful response to God’s call inspires our own work of teaching, serving, and preaching the Gospel today.
Stations of the Cross
Join Dominican Young Adults of Caldwell on Thursday, March 19, at 7:00 p.m. to Pray the Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross or Via Crucis, are a series of 14 images or carvings depicting key events in Jesus’s passion.
