
Tracy Espiritu McKay, D.O. ’03 is a Clinical Assistant Professor and physician in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. After graduating from Saint Dominic Academy, she attended the College of the Holy Cross. She credits the Academy with laying the foundation for her lifelong commitment to leadership and service, instilling in her both the confidence to lead and the responsibility to give back—principles that continue to guide her career.
Dr. McKay earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as a fellowship in Sports Medicine, at NYU Rusk Rehabilitation.
Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. McKay performed professionally in musical theatre, appearing on renowned stages including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. She now brings that unique perspective to her medical work, dedicating her career to the care of elite artists and athletes.
Dr. McKay has served as consulting medical director for the Broadway production Here Lies Love and as a consulting physician for Water for Elephants. She is also a consulting physician for leading dance companies, including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Dance Theatre of Harlem, and serves as a team physician for U.S. Figure Skating.
A recognized leader in her field, Dr. McKay currently serves as Chair of the Performing Arts Medicine Community of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, advancing care for performers and athletes nationwide.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. McKay treasures time with her husband, Shawn, and their two daughters, Sloane and Quinn, finding her greatest joy in family life and in modeling the same values of faith, dedication, compassion, and service that shaped her own journey.
