MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION ASSOCIATE 

The Marketing and Communications Associate will develop and implement a broad and comprehensive marketing, communications, and brand management strategy designed to enhance Saint Dominic Academy’s visibility, reputation, and position as a leader in girls’ education. The strategy will promote enrollment, re-enrollment, fundraising, and brand awareness, as well as internal and external communications among all constituencies. The Associate promotes a culture and environment in which the school’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and anti-racism are kept central to the school’s messaging, climate, and culture in support of our mission. This position reports directly to the Director of Advancement & Enrollment Management.

Duties:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing the long-term marketing & communication vision for Saint Dominic Academy’s brand, which promotes its unique position in the marketplace.
  • Establish and maintain a communication/marketing calendar to ensure consistent content production and meeting established deadlines.
  • Develop content for publications, including design, photography,  and storytelling about the school across multimedia platforms.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing a website content plan. Update all copy that is posted on the website and coordinate with all departments to keep website content accurate.  Assure the layout and aesthetic elements are on brand while creating content that is relevant to our target audience and demographics.
  • Develop new social media strategies and campaigns.
  • Schedule social media outreach using multiple applications. Posting new content frequently to optimize search hits, increase SEO, and increase social followers.
  • Keep track of data and analyze the performance of social media campaigns.
  • Monitor all affiliated social media accounts maintained by SDA groups and sports.
  • Maintain a strong presence at school, attending school sponsored events throughout the year.
  • Assist, as needed, in emergency and crisis communications in collaboration with the Administration.
  • Other marketing and communication duties as may be assigned by the Director of Advancement and/or Head of School.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Communications or related field.
  • 1-3 years experience in a marketing/communications role, preferable in a school environment but not required.
  • Results-oriented leader with the ability to use appropriate metrics to make decisions, guide the school’s marketing & communications strategy and lead to achievement in articulated goals that energize the school community.
  • Experience in graphic design, brand management, and writing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and in-person. You deliver your ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Experience producing digital content across channels and platforms.
  • Proficient in various web-based tools including Google suite, Microsoft suite, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with WordPress, Constant Contact and Canva a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software as required.

 

This is a 12-month, full-time position.  Workdays are Monday through Friday; some nights and weekends will be required for fundraising and school events.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a 401K, vacation, sick, and personal time off.
