Director of Annual Fund

The Director of the Annual Fund supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of Saint Dominic Academy. He/she supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct, policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook.

The Director of the Annual Fund is a full-time salaried position with a 12 month work schedule. This individual will play a vital role in leading annual fund activities for the school.

Overview

The Director of the Annual Fund will work on creating and implementing strategies to increase participation and leadership giving from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. Responsibilities include direct marketing, volunteer management, prospect portfolio management, personal solicitations, strategic planning and reporting, donor acquisition, and contributing to broader advancement goals, including strategic campaign support.

 

Description of Duties:

  • Develop and implement plans for Annual Fund marketing campaigns, including multi-channel Annual Giving appeals using segmented direct mail, email, and social media, in collaboration with marketing and communications.
  • Use data analysis to determine multi-channel campaign effectiveness
  • Coordinate signature events including the SDA gala, class reunions, parent and alumnae events, and program-specific fundraisers.
  • Plan and arrange development events, school visits, briefings, and meetings with administrative leadership and faculty.
  • Partner with the Director of Advancement on alumni and parent outreach, such as reunion and class giving.
  • Steward annual fund gifts through various communication channels (phone, letters, email, and face-to-face meetings).
  • Manage volunteers and committees to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward annual fund donors.
  • Enter gifts and pledges into Raisers Edge
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge required and comfort with computer software, databases, including data entry.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate thoughtfully, inspiringly, and effectively across various audiences.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with experience using project management tools for managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytic skills for data-driven results.
  • Ability to diplomatically engage with alumni, donors, faculty, high-level administrators, volunteer leaders, and other constituents.
  • Professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.
